You'll mainly find two-story single-family homes, row townhomes and semi-detached homes. Sizes range from 1,200 to 2,000 square feet, with garage and finishable basement.
The New Home Warranty
All new construction in Quebec is covered by the GCR warranty (Residential Construction Guarantee). This warranty covers construction defects for 5 years and major defects for 10 years.
Negotiating with a Builder
Unlike resale, new build prices are often fixed. However, you can negotiate upgrades (countertops, flooring, fixtures) and sometimes closing costs. A broker can represent you at no additional cost.
My Advice
Buying new in Masson-Angers is an excellent option for first-time buyers. Check the builder's reputation, visit other completed projects and have a broker represent you to protect your interests.
